The METZGERWIRT was acquired in 1930 by Josef Scheffauer (who had received a mention for bravery). Until today, that is by now throughout three generations, the Metzgerwirt has been in possession of the Scheffauer family.

Loads of work and diligence have turned the “Metzgerwirt” into what it is today – a well-appointed ***+Hotel with the cuisine and atmosphere of good ****Hotels! With loads of love and commitment, the Scheffauer family has carried out modifications and renovated the hotel several times. Besides, a new wing has been added to the building.

Rooms have become united to accommodation units (hotel suites) in order to alter quality and comfort. Half of our rooms as well as the pine-panelled parlours and the lounge have been furnished with noble arolla pine wood.

There is scientific evidence that the quality of sleep is significantly better in a bed built from arolla pine wood than in an ordinary bed. On average 3500 heartbeats are saved each day which means that one’s body is liberated from about one hour of “heart work” each day!  Spending a holiday in our hotel means recreation for body, mind and soul!

All our meals are freshly prepared, and we exclusively use products of high quality. You won’t find any convenience products in our kitchen, and we decorate every single dish with devotion.
